The next day I call my sister, Viviana.
âWhat do you want?â she asks in a way of greeting when she answers.
âWell, Iâm going out on a very important date tomorrow night and I was wondering if you had that really cute black clutch purse that I can borrow?â I ask hopefully.
âYou expect me to believe that youâre calling to borrow a purse when you have more purses in your smallest closet than what I do in my entire house? Come on. I was born in the afternoon but not yesterday afternoon. What are you playing at? Whatâs your game?â she sneers.
âLook, I just need a purse of some sort for tomorrow night. Itâs not a big deal. I just donât feel like looking for one.â
âOh, so you admit that youâre a lazy bitch?â she taunts.
âYes, I am so lazy,â I say, rolling my eyes. Why I have to put up with this shit is unbeknownst to me. But we gotta do what we gotta do. So seriously, the sooner I get her out of my world, the better off Iâll be.
âFine. Do you want me to bring it to you, too?â she chides.
âYeah, would you? Maybe we can have lunch? Itâs been a really long time since we caught up just the two of us. It would be nice to have lunch with you.â I hate saying this to my sister, because if I am honest, I really couldnât care less if I ever saw her again. Thatâs how little of a fuck I give where sheâs concerned.
I can hear the hesitation in her voice as she reluctantly agrees to go to lunch with me. We agree to meet at Buon Cibo at two.
Once inside, George sits me down in a booth in the corner of the restaurant and hands me a glass of ice water and a menu.
âCenerai da solo?â he asks.
âMy sister will be joining me, so I wonât be alone,â I tell him when he asks if Iâm dining alone. Itâs not long before Viviana makes her appearance at the restaurant. The door opens and the ambience suddenly changes as a cold gust of air comes in with her, chilling the entire dining room. She walks over to the hostess says something, and the hostess turns and points to the corner table where Iâm sitting. Viviana waves her hand dismissively and saunters toward me. She sits down, plopping the purse in front of me. Could she have picked a more hideous bag to loan me? This bag is the brightest lime green bag I have ever seen in my life. It seriously looks like the designer forgot to actually design this thing and just threw a bunch of material together, cinched it shut with a drawstring, put a handle on it, and called it a purse. Letâs not forget the designer label that made it cost way more than it should have. But hey, when you have a sugar daddy who buys you anything and everything you could possibly imagine, why not a bag like this?
âOh, thank you so much for loaning this to me.
